Orient Beach, on the North Eastern side of the st martin island, looks out on the Atlantic Ocean. The glamorous island of St Bart’s can be seen in the distance and, even closer, is the classy island of Anguilla, so called because it is long and thin like an eel (the French word for ell is “Anguille”) Both Anguilla and St Bart’s can be reached by ferry from St Martin. Also closer to Orient is Pinel Island, a peaceful spot with only a couple of restaurant in which a silent afternoon can be spent on the sheltered lee side of the wind. For those who wish to sunbathe “au naturel” Orient Beach is the place to be. At the top end of the beach is the famous clothing optional resort The Orient Beach Club. If you are interested in good wine and good food, then visit one of the five Jewels of Orient Beach, Kakao Beach, Coco Beach, Kontiki Beach, Waikiki Beach and Bikini Beach and you’ll get a warm welcome If you visit Orient Bay you will find something for everyone.
