i remember last year txa 21 had the dallas/atlanta game that was on nfl network and im pretty sure atlanta tv stations had it too. does anyone know if they will show the dallas/green bay game this year?
All Cowboys games shown on cable/satellite channels are also shown on a local channel.
So yes, we will get to watch the Cowboys game vs. the Packers.
I was born and raised in New London and in 1950s and 1960s everyone had tall TV antennas (40 to 50 ft tall). We could get the Connecticut stations, Providence, RI and Boston.
We could also raise WCBS, WOR, WPIX and WNET out of New York City. I was wondering if those signals can still reach the New London/Waterford area of Connecticut.
I wouldn’t know why not, assuming you have a good antenna. Don’t forget the switch to digital next year.
Washington always claims that one of its top foreign policy initiatives is to spread democracy and freedoms around the world. But a recent bill in the US Congress has many wondering if the US wants to become one of the world’s biggest censors of media freedoms. In early December the US House of Representatives voted by an overwhelming majority to pass a bill punishing Arab TV stations that engage in “anti-American incitement to violence”. The bill – known as House Resolution 2278 – has to pass many stages before it becomes law, but it has shocked many for contradicting American support for free speech. So, what are the implications of such a law for the concept of free speech?

While channel surfing, I notice that the audio on some TV stations is louder than others. at the same setting on my remote. Why is this and is there any other way to control or equalize the sound (other than the remote)?
They all agree to the same sound settings, but variables in the content providers (Cable, Satellite, etc), signal strength or the network’s desire to stick out for advertising purposes can change the level.
Many televisions and audio receivers do have a channel volume equalizing function, but many also do not.
Check out your setup menu and see, otherwise you’ll have to live with it.
On February 17 at 11:59 p.m., three TV stations in Orlando shut off their analog signals as part of the nation’s transition to all digital broadcasting. The rest of the local stations will shut off analog on June 12.
Here is a video of what it looked like when those stations turned off analog; as part of an art installation by Brian Feldman called “The End of Television: Part II” at Say It Loud! / Orange Studio.”

I heard I can buy some equipment to get over 784 TV stations on my computer. Is this a real thing or a gimmick to get money from me?
Its a gimmick….. Don’t buy it!
Good Luck
=)
just wondering why tv stations must switch to digital by law.
Because the FCC is taking back the radio signal space that is currently used, and re-allocating that to other uses. The broadcasters will be limited to a much smaller bandwidth, which means they must use a digital signal (smaller, more efficient) in order to broadcast their programs.
If they continued broadcasting as is, they’d be creating interference for newer services like internet WiFi and cell phones.
Weatherman proposes live on TV
A TV weatherman stunned his presenter girlfriend when he proposed to her live on-air.
Emily Leonard, of Texas based KAMC looked shocked when boyfriend appeared on the screens in her studio, as well she might, he works for another station.
Matt Laubhan then told viewers the normal sports report on the morning show was being replaced by some “breaking news” asking them to “sit back and watch me make a young woman cry, hopefully in a good way.
He then walked over to the desk where Emily was presenting the live show, dropped to one knee and asked her: “I was wanting to know if you might want to marry me, how about it?”
Nice to see Matt is an old fashioned guy and stuck with the tradition of adding ‘how about it?’ at the end of the proposal.
***Weatherman proposes to girlfriend live on air***
A television weatherman stunned his presenter girlfriend when he made a surprise appearance on her morning news broadcast to propose live on-air.
Texas station KAMC anchor Emily Leonard’s jaw dropped when she introduced a sports bulletin only to see her boyfriend, Matt Laubhan, a meteorologist for rival station KLBK, sitting behind the sports desk.
Mr Laubhan told viewers the normal sports report was taking a “sabbatical” for “some breaking news”. He referred to Miss Leonard as “not only the sweet, quirky, crazy girl that you watch every morning on this channel” but “the love of my life”.
He then invited them to “sit back and watch me make a young woman cry, hopefully in a good way.”
As a shocked Miss Leonard grinned and covered her mouth with her hand, he walked over to the desk where she was sitting, commenting that she “must be wearing waterproof mascara” because she wasn’t crying. Then he dropped to one knee and asked: “I was wanting to know if you might want to marry me, how about it?”
Miss Leonard, who confessed “I’m shaking”, then cried out “yes” numerous times before her new fiance slipped the ring on to her finger. She also paused to shout “you all knew!” to her colleagues before wiping away some tears and hugging Mr Leonard.
“So you had no clue?” he asked.
“No,” she said, adding, “I think I got lipstick on you.”
“I don’t think it matters,” her fiance replied.

As men, we all know how hard it is to think of a way to propose to a woman. Today, I was just browsing over at Yahoo and YouTube when I found this featured video. Its interesting how this weatherman came up with the brilliant idea of broadcasting his proposal LIVE on TV!
Cool huh? Good thing the TV stations production staff are his friends. How about you? How would you do your marriage proposal?
Lots of people in my life have been getting engaged lately and every time I hear about it, I always think about how the guy might have pulled it off. I dont always hear about romantic and creative proposals anymore so when I saw this video of a CBS weatherman, Matt Laubhan, proposing to his ABC-affiliate girlfriend, Emily Leonard, it made me smile.
Matt basically convinced the ABC-affiliate channel to spare some air time for him to propose on-air in a total and complete surprise to Emily. The reaction that Emily has as she first recognizes Matts face in her studio is priceless. Man, I hope my proposal can be just as shocking.
