Satan visits the children. Wonderful claymation.

Mysterious Stranger by Mark Twain. A stop motion clay animation of Mark Twain’s Mysterious Stranger. Done by Will Vinton. Censored from some television stations.

“THE ADVENTURES OF MARK TWAIN depicts the author’s journey to meet up with Haley’s comet (Twain, who was born in a year in which Haley’s comet appeared, rightly predicted his death would coincide with its next visit in 1910). Also on board were three stowaways, Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn and Becky Thatcher, whose presence enabled Twain to tell them such stories as The Celebrated Jumping Frog of Calaveras County and The Diary of Adam and Eve (which was incorporated into the story). When simple recitations were not possible, plot devices like the Index-O-Vator and Astro-viewer were introduced to permit visits to The Mysterious Stranger and Capt. Stormfield. Like its subject, the film was a showcase of Vinton’s career thus far, featuring clay paintings, caricatures, morphing and lip-syncing.”

I’d love to hear your comments.

How does television stations know how many people watch a show?

Posted by admin on June 23rd, 2010 and filed under television stations | 7 Comments »

There could be multiple people watching one TV, or only one person, or even none. I have 5 TVs in my house. I could turn them all to one channel. Do they know when we turn on a TV?
How do they calculate the ratings? Yes, I know it’s more than one question.
I’m Australian.

They have people who have agreed to participate in a panel to give them info. on what people are watching. The Neilsen ratings?? Ever heard of them.

They send these people from all different types of life, scanners or survey equipment. The agreement is that these people will tell them what they are watching.

I do this but for a different industry. I have a scanner from a division of this company. I scan everything that I buy…including groceries, clothes, etc. & tell them the cost, if I got it on sale, etc.

This is how they do ratings for everything & companies buy this service in order to make the best product or fill a need or desire out there in the public area.

has anyone else lost 2 television stations after the DTV conversion in Chula Vista?

Posted by admin on June 20th, 2010 and filed under television stations | 2 Comments »

I live in Chula Vista, CA and after the digital switch I no longer get CBS or ABC. I’ve rescanned my channels numerous times and I’ve adjusted my Antenna and I’ve had no luck in getting the digital signal. I was wondering is it maybe because of my area and has anyone else in Chula Vista lost their television signal for CBS and ABC?

It could be your area, you have the wrong antenna (those stations are on VHF), or you need to point the antenna better.

It seems those transmitters are near La Jolla, so you can try pointing your antenna there.

Why aren’t there television stations dedicated to motorcycling?

I know that if there was "Harley Davidson TV" I would watch it. Your thoughts?
Yeah, I know there’s OCC, Jesse James has shifted to killing himself instead (in more ways than one). I’m talkin about non-stop Harley Davidson. Parts, customs, road trips, safety stuff, accessories, aftermarket parts, etc… 24/7. I think there’s a market.

I dont think you watch enough. Theres plenty of stuff on TV about bikes. SPEED shows all the AMA superbike, supercross, MotoGP, Superbikes, American Chopper, Jesse James, On the Road with Harley Davidson, SUPERBIKES with Jason Britton and a few more….

EDIT: Then it would be one long boring Harley infomercial. BLAH.

Hunky and Spunky Cartoon

Posted by admin on June 17th, 2010 and filed under television stations | 9 Comments »

In the good old days, when we only had four channels and NO remote control, kids were at the mercy of the television station content. Remember, there were no videos or DVD’s, so a kid would watch almost ANYTHING cartoon related. TV Stations would have their Cartoon Hours and my sister and I would be glued to the set. This is one of the classic cartoons that the station played WAY too much — we had seen it so many times that we could recite the next line. And it wouldn’t be so bad but it’s a god awful cartoon. I dedicate this video to my sister Renee, who always loved Hunky and Spunky, much to my dismay.

American television stations do something to encourage the American public to start watching football be?

Posted by admin on June 14th, 2010 and filed under television stations | 6 Comments »

By an American television stations do something to encourage the American public to start watching football before the World Cup 94. What is this work and is the station?
I translated this question from arabic to english because I didn’t find the answer in arabic. who can help me ?

For me, two things:
1. Remove the pansies that go down and cry like little fairies over fake injuries. We SO hate pu**ies in sports.
2. Do something to make players actually score more than 2 goals more often.

DuMont Television Network ID

Posted by admin on June 9th, 2010 and filed under television stations | 25 Comments »

Someone else posted this originally, but his account was closed. An ID for the DuMont Television Network, which operated between 1946-1955. DuMont was the first network home for Ralph Kramden, and it carried the NFL from 1951-1955, but was woefully underfinanced, and done in by regulations and uncooperative shareholders. The core of the DuMont network, stations WABD (NYC) and WTTG (DC) became the core of the Metromedia chain, which in turn became the core of the Fox Network. This ID comes after the end of one of their most remembered shows, Captain Video
