I only see reference to a tape delayed ceremony airing on NBC prime-time friday night. I’m wanting to watch it live, if possible.
As an expat living in Canada, the Olympics are being broadcasted live by the CBC. Just another reason to live up north, live olympic coverage.
Communications Degree,my gf’s old roommate now does the weather in Casper, Wy. All she had was a Communications degree, but if you want to do it in a bigger city I think meterology or atmospheric sciences degree should get you there.
A guy named Larry Mendte used to do this hilarious TV report on San Diego TV back in the late 90’s. I taped most of them. Here is one he did on a trip to the Dentist.

to frustrate over the air viewers into subscribing with cable and satellite providers? Because what handful of stations now broadcasting over the air most of the time do not work or not viewable. This is happening even with outside roof antennas.
I’ve had all three, none of them are any good.
Cable went off and on for months until one worker finally found a broken wire.
Dish didn’t send me a bill for six months, with me calling every week and it goes out with each rainstorm and snowstorm. Sometimes for hours.
We don’t live close enough to use rabbit ears, and that wouldn’t give HD and would have to be readjusted each time we changed channels.
Its amazing to me we can send men to the moon and machinery to Mars and yet a simple broadcast signal is impossible to get consistently and clearly.
Is it after all the polls are closed in the country, that television stations actually can report the winner. I thought there was a policy or law, stating that they cannot report the winner until all the polls have closed. This was due to the fact Polls in the west are open longer than the East due to time differences. Can someone help me out???
By convention, they start reporting projected winners as soon as the polls close in that state. And yes, this means that in a national election, results from the east cost will be announced before the polls on the west coast are still voting.
There have been times when results were announced before the polls have closed. Rather famously in 2000, some networks reported projected results in Florida when the polls closed in the eastern time zone, but while the polls were still open in the heavily Republican part of the state that’s in the Central time zone.

It always seems to me they have millions of dollars to give away to people, all these games shows! where are they getting the money from?
through ratings advertisers choose which television stations they want to advertise on in terms of greater audience numbers and target demographic, hence, they pay the TV stations to play their ads.
