Why would anyone wish to get into the headlines of a newspaper? One of the things you describe might get you arrested but would hardly qualify as "news". In any case newspapers are rapidly becoming a thing of the past. Be honest. When did you last buy and read one?
I do not mean to be in any way insensitive but I was only 5 years old at the time, and in light of the 20th anniversary of the tragedy I wondered if any of The Suns disgusting headlines ie ‘Some fans urinated on the brave cops’ and ‘Some fans picked pockets of victims’ were ever proven to be true?

The story published in the sun was traced back to a Tory MP Irvine Patnick and Mckenzie asked the police comander on the day Duckenfield to conrfim it; he did not deny it.
The police realised pretty quickly that they had made a massive mistake and soon used back channels to blame the fans for the disaster. The scurilous headlines such as urinating (which is common after crush injuries) were soon changed to demonise the fans, people searching for Id became pick pocketing the dead.
The one Thing that the MP and Duckenfield didn’t realise was that in the crowd that day was many off duty Liverpool police men who were fans.
Notice that these allegations were never substantiated by anyone willing to go in front of a camera when anyone tried to get any evidence. That was because Liverpool Police federation contacted the National federation and informed them that if these lies continued there were many members of Merseyside police who where prepared to give evidence of the culapability of West Yorkshire Police in the disaster including one officer I know of who saw West Yorkshire policemen using truncheons to force fans back into the pen who where trying to escape.
The alligations soon went away when the national federation told West yorkshire police that their accusations would be countered by serving police officers.
The attitude of the police was shown by the story of the only ambulance driver to get on to the pitch. There were 36 ambulances outside the ground as the disaster unfolded, but the police would not let them in because ‘the fans where fighting’. He was called through by a senior ambulance man when the police turned their backs, and his ambulance was quickly swamped by injured and dying people. He eventualy had a breakdown, not because of what he saw, but because he felt the police stopped him from doing his job and saving lives. As he put it, can you imagine a disaster in central London where the survivors are left to care for the injured and dying, whilst the emergency services look on, thats what happened at Hillsbourough.
Sadly mud sticks and there will always be people willing to believe what they read but I think the reaction of Journalists in the Sun to Mc Kenzies headline says it all.
"As MacKenzie’s layout was seen by more and more people, a collective shudder ran through the office [but] MacKenzie’s dominance was so total there was nobody left in the organisation who could rein him in except Murdoch. [Everyone in the office] seemed paralysed, "looking like rabbits in the headlights", as one hack described them. The error staring them in the face was too glaring. It obviously wasn’t a silly mistake; nor was it a simple oversight. Nobody really had any comment on it—they just took one look and went away shaking their heads in wonder at the enormity of it. It was a "classic smear"
If people want to be open minded thats find and dandy, good luck to you, but you have to realise that you can be so open minded that your brain falls out, without using a little sceptacism, you end up believing any old crap that the Sun prints.

Does anyonen know of a search engine that doesn’t always put liberal motivated news stories at the top of it’s headlines like Yahoo tends to do.
I’m tired of always reading them
Yahoo news stories do almost always have a liberal slant, espically the ones that are displayed on the little window as you sign into Yahoo messanger. I came across your question as I was also searching for other people who felt that Yahoo, more than Google, tends to put anti-Republican and anti-conservative stories and opinions at the top of its pages. Personally, I use google news as my homepage because I feel that you can personalize it more and get a more stories that don’t read as though they were written by Nancy Pelosi.

I have my own theory that the people who sell anti virus softwear for computers are the same guys who create these viruses and download them onto our computers.
Can anyone explain to me a clear instruction how to go to headlines to my space homepages picture so I can type something on there. I tried to click Edit by my picture but I didnt’ see any space where I can type something on there. Please I need your help. I am new to this and trying my best.

You need to go to where it says "edit profile" and it’s in the same area as where you type in your interests and personality information. There will be a space that says "headline". Type it in there. The edit by your picture is to edit or add photos.

I need to find a number of front-page headlines from major newspapers (NY Times, Chicago Tribune, etc.) for major events in 1973. I have a list of famous events (Watergate, Roe vs. Wade, Paris Peace Accords, etc.), but I want to find where I can get pics of the original newspaper headlines. Can anyone point me to sources/sites?
